A note to parents and educators from the daddy:My Baby Monsters are really special. I have known these magical storytelling creatures for four years; ever since my daughter Josie (now six) introduced me to them. And while her imaginary friends have long since left the confines of our home, they still find time in their busy schedule to visit. But it's not easy. As story-inspiring stars of fantasy, whimsy, and childhood, My Baby Monsters' popularity continues to grow. And with them, so does my daughter. One might think that they have grown too big to play with us – after all, in addition to creating a successful children's book, story sharing podcast and coloring pages, fun T-shirts and playful gifts, they're now big enough to go to school, ride a bicycle without training wheels, and take care of their baby sister – but one would be wrong, because My Baby Monsters are still connected to hearts of children of all ages. For this reason, My Baby Monsters' are committed to giving your son, daughter, or class a fun and effective way to develop their communication and collaboration skills. And while this may seem slightly silly, My Baby Monsters are truly built upon a strong pedagogically foundation ... that children learn best through play. While the play may be wild, it is also character defining, and through your patient ear and thoughtful words, you can help your child channel his or her raw energy and imagination into effective communication. Storytelling is a collaboration, for without an audience and its feedback, there is no context, no communication, and no story. For this reason, everything on the My Baby Monster story sharing community has been cooperatively created by children and their parents, as well as classrooms around the world. So please, Read My Baby Monsters' stories with your children and help them add their own endings. The more they craft their story sharing skills, the more effective communicators they will become.
